Prayer of Heart & Body (Tuesdays in Lent)

Come try meditation and yoga in a Christian context. The invitation is to a refreshing and powerful way of praying with the whole of your being: body, mind, heart, and spirit. Each session culminates in movement to music, engaging with a variety of postures that give bodily expression to song-prayers, followed by a period of quiet sitting in centering prayer. Instructor: Fr. Tom Ryan, CSP, certified yoga instructor and author of numerous books on spirituality; see www.tomryancsp.org.
Seven-week series: Tuesdays (February 27th-April 10th), one Monday (March 5th), 5:30-7:15pm in the Auditorium. $12 per session ($6 for students). Registration forms available on rack in the back of Chapel, or at reception office (617-742-4460).

Charismatic Prayer  (March 21st)

Our Group meets on Wednesday Nights, usually twice a month, always in the Holy Spirit Chapel, from 6:00-8:00pm.  We share time in worship, song and praise together, and discuss various scripture passages and topics that have powerfully moved us. This month we’ll meet just once on March 21st. All are welcome to join us for a joyous time of worship.  If you have any questions, please contact: Nora Bolcon at nora.bolcon@state.ma.us or 617-573-1664.

Washing Other’s Feet -Presentation by Fr. Tom Ryan (March 22nd)

Every Christian knows the mandate that Jesus gave when he gathered with his friends on the night before he died: first he took bread… and then a cup of wine… and said. “Do this in memory of me.”  We got it and do it.  Bur there was another mandate given on the same occasion, before they sat down to eat.  He got up, tied a towel around his waist, and washed their feet, added: “What I have done for you, you must also do.”  Did we “get” that one?

This will be the last session in the 7-month Take Back Your Time series in holistic spirituality offered by Fr. Tom Ryan, CSP. Thursday, March 22th, 7-8:15pm (Suggested donation $10 – $5 students).

Praying with Creation (April 15th)

Join us in a “mini-retreat,” reflecting together and through prayer our relation to the earth and how we care for our common home. Pope Francis has invited all Catholics – indeed all people –to reflect on our relationship with God through gift of creation. Our faith inspires care for our earth and its inhabitants.

Beginning with a light lunch (11:15am-12pm), we will focus on our faith and the environment 12pm-2pm. No cost, but we would appreciate an RSVP to careofourcommonhome@gmail.com to prepare adequate food. We will be led by Christina Leaño, Associate Director of the Global Catholic Climate movement, an international network of over 650 Catholic institutions and individuals who are responding to Pope Francis’ Laudato Si’ letter on action for climate justice. This will be a special time of prayer, education, reflection, and commitment.
