A New Year’s Blessing

January 7, 2021

Dear Companions on the Journey,

A New Year’s Blessing…

May you have
Friends for your days, remembering the lonely;
Food for your body, remembering the hungry;
Freedom in your life, remembering the enslaved;
Peace in your heart, remembering the troubled;
With God’s blessing over all.

As members of a religious family (the Paulist Fathers), as Chuck and I are, there comes a time when we work for the welfare of the family, both in caring for one another and in supporting our ministries. In a couple weeks, we will be welcoming Fr. Richard Whitney, another member of our Paulist Fathers family, to speak about our mission and how you can be part of it. That’s what we call our “Annual Paulist Appeal” (the proceeds of which will count towards our comprehensive campaign).

In addition, every ten or fifteen years, the Paulist Fathers mount a comprehensive campaign to address our needs. We depend on you, members of the Paulist Center Community, to join us in that mission. We will be asking for a prayerful consideration as you make a significant donation to address, at this time, the building of our new house of mission and studies in Washington, DC; taking care of our older Fathers; and significant capital improvements to our properties (including the Paulist Center). As the weeks come upon us, I will be sharing more with you, but, for the time being, please read the announcement in this week’s bulletin.

What do you think?

The Sunday bulletin is online at the Paulist Center website. We hope that you will open it with these links to see more about what is happening now at the Paulist Center Community.

We conclude with the prophet Micah 6:8:
Our Faithful God has told you, O mortal, what is good;
   and what does the Lord require of you
but to do justice, to love kindness,
   and to walk humbly with your God?
And let us pray for/with one another.
Michael
