Becoming Catholic (OCIA)
For any adult considering becoming a Catholic
The Paulist Center will be holding OCIA sessions at 4:00pm on Sundays, beginning September 24 and continuing through the month of October, 2026.
These initial sessions are known as the Inquiry phase or the pre-Catechumenate. These Inquiry gatherings have the following elements:
- It is an informal time for asking questions, sharing personal stories, and learning the basics of the Catholic Christian faith.
- There is no pressure or obligation to join the Church or even commit to continuing the process.
- Participants use this time to figure out if they feel called by God to follow Jesus through the Catholic Church.
- This period has no fixed duration; it can last for a few weeks, several months, or even years depending on the individual.
- The phase concludes when an inquirer is ready to make a formal public commitment and move into the second phase, known as the Catechumenate.
- Free admission
